Artist Profile

John Ward

PalaceJohn Ward was born in London. After training at
Sutton & Cheam School of
Art, he joined the display staff of Simpson, Piccadilly. Following the five years spent at this London store, he worked in display both in London and in the Provinces, latterly on a freelance basis.

DaffodilIt was his interest in form, texture and colour, from his display experience, that he carried forward into his 'low relief' paintings and also his watercolours - a medium to which he has become increasingly addicted.

He has exhibited with the New English Art Club at the Mall Galleries and also with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours at the same Gallery. Nearer home, he has exhibited with
the Richmond Art Society at its annual Vestry House Exhibitions and with the Society at Orleans House Gallery.

ChurchJohn has also had several one-man exhibitions as well as sharing in group shows in and around London.

Recently, several of his watercolours were purchased by the Spelthorne & Hounslow Health Authority for the new West Middlesex Hospital.

From time to time, we pick an artist, from all those for whom we have produced work, to feature in our Artist Profile. As well as providing a showcase for the artist's work, we will supply 1000 A6 Postcards, free of charge, to the chosen artist.
