Terms of Business

1. Layouts and Copy
(i) Layout and cropping marks are welcomed, but on the understanding that unless clear, specific and accurate instructions are given, layout (including positioning of image) and croppings are at our discretion.

(ii) All copy must be supplied clearly typed or written. We cannot be held responsible for any errors caused by ambiguities.

2. Colour Cromalin Proofs, Faxed Proofs, Photocopies, Laser Proofs (All at extra cost)
(i) Cromalin proofs are a check on colour and sizing and give only an indication of the final printed quality, and are not trimmed to size.

(ii) Proofs must be returned to us, having been checked, signed and dated by the client, before printing can proceed.

(iii) Any alterations to proofs, other than our own corrections, will be charged accordingly.

3. Print quality
(i) The prices shown on this form are for cards printed collectively. Each individual price reflects a proportional charge of the larger printed sheet. It must therefore be understood that the control of quality is solely at our discretion, and the signing of this form constitutes the signatory's acceptance of these conditions for work undertaken by this company.

(ii) All sizes shown on the price list are approximate and we reserve the right to crop the size to suit individual images.

(iii) Whilst every effort is made to maintain colour balance throughout the run, some colour variation may occur.

4. Quantities
Every effort will be made to deliver the correct quantity ordered but orders are conditional upon a margin of error; 5% for single colour work and 10% on all other work being allowed for overs or shortages.

5. Company Imprint
All work will include our company imprint which will be positioned at our discretion.

6. Originals
Whereas every care is taken, neither we nor our agents can accept any responsibility for loss or damage to transparencies, photographs, artwork etc., other than for the replacement cost of the basic material.

7. Non Collection of Work and Originals
Finished work or originals not collected within 6 months from the date of order, whether paid for or not, may be destroyed.

8. Storage of Origination - Film
Originations, including colour separations, negatives and positives etc., are normally kept on file for 3 months. Although these originations remain the property of Butterfly Cards, they will be available for reprints. However we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage whatsoever.

9. Copyright
The client shall obtain all necessary permission to reproduce the artwork/photographs and shall totally indemnify Butterfly Cards and its agents from any claim arising thereof.

10. Postal, air freight & freight delays
We accept no liability for loss or delay by post or any other means of carriage.

11. Cancellations
A charge will be made for any cancelled order, based on the amount of work involved up to the point of cancellation. There will be a minimum of 30% of the total cost, including VAT. Where any order is cancelled after receipt of a proof, a charge will be made for the cost of the proof plus the work involved up to that stage.

12. Liability
Whilst every effort will be made to meet our due delivery dates, we accept no liability for any costs or losses of income sustained by any client due to production delays or any printing undertaken by Butterfly Cards for whatever reason.
